Psychotherapy is a voice. A voice spoken, felt and received. It is living, providing a name, organizing and eventually simplifying what feels confusing.
When a word is spoken — or communicated — it can be transformed. Through words, we give shape to our inner world. We may use them, release them, avoid them or even play with them.
I believe it is in this movement — of listening and expressing, of relating and making meaning — that transformation begins. Psychotherapy does not impose solutions;
rather, it opens new paths and fosters autonomy, while also inviting discovery. It helps us name what lives within us and, with time and care, build a lighter, more authentic self.
My name is Carolina Machado Silva and I am a Clinical Psychologist, a full member of the Portuguese Board of Psychologists’ (no. 28527). Throughout my career, I have
developed an integrative, person-centered clinical practice, with experience in psychological assessment and intervention with children, adolescents, and adults.
I work with a wide range of issues, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders,
emotional regulation difficulties, socio-relational development challenges, and cognitive stimulation needs.
I believe that each person is unique, and that empathic listening, the therapeutic bond, and respect for individual rhythm are essential for effective intervention.
I have experience in both clinical and school settings, collaborating with
multidisciplinary teams and involving families and institutions whenever necessary. My
work is guided by careful attention to the uniqueness of each case, adapting strategies and resources to meet the needs of those who seek my support.
I place great importance on ongoing training and clinical supervision, integrating up-to- date knowledge and ethical practices into my work. In this regard, I have also completed training in Intervention with Children and Youth at Risk and in Psychological
Intervention with Older Adults.
